As national conservatives gain power and influence across the world, they have an unprecedented opportunity to learn from allies in democratic countries on almost every continent. Whereas global cooperation was once the exclusive province of the left, today national conservatives can gain strength, inspiration, and productive dialogue from engaging with their peers across the world.
That is why the Herzl Institute is working with the Edmund Burke Foundation and the Conservative Partnership Institute to organize Conservative Study Group trips for American political and intellectual leaders. Firsthand experience, rather than media spin and hearsay, is the best tool to understand the solutions that national conservatives in many nations have developed to fight opponents on the global, neo-Marxist left.
The study groups will deepen the participants’ knowledge of countries that are of particular interest and relevance to a national conservative worldview and introduce American national conservatives to their counterparts in these countries, with the aim of exploring common concerns and seeking a deeper understanding of the issues these countries face.
The conservative study groups hosted by the Herzl Institute focus on National Conservatism in Israel. Participants explore urgent questions about conservatism, Zionism, a conservative life, national interest, and international relations. They visit Jewish and Christian sites, receive briefs on the current war, meet conservative political leaders, and hear from prominent conservative Israeli thinkers.
