Dr. Avital Levi

Avital Levi is the Director of Educational Programs at The Herzl Institute. She was previously a post-doctoral fellow at University of Haifa’s philosophy department. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from University of Arizona, and studied Hebrew Bible at Herzog College. In 2022-2024 she held post-doctoral positions at the Safra Center for Ethics and the philosophy department at Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on the psychology and morality of loyalty, as well as the social dimensions of David Hume’s moral theory. She is working on a book titled Ha’El HaNe’eman: Loyalty in the Theology, Morality and Political Theory of the Hebrew Bible. Her academic publications appeared in Hume Studies and Religious Studies.
