Rachel Kosowsky

Rachel Kosowsky is the Tanakh Department Chair at the Berman Hebrew Academy in Rockville, MD. She has been teaching Tanakh and other Judaic Studies subjects at the high school level for twenty one years. Before coming to Berman she taught at Yeshivat Rambam and the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School in Baltimore, MD. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Barnard College, and an MA in Jewish Thought from Baltimore Hebrew University. She also studied at Drisha Institute in NY, and at Midreshet Lindenbaum, Nishmat and Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel. She has served as a teacher mentor with the Jewish New Teacher Project and regularly lectures to adult audiences. She lives in Silver Spring, MD with her husband Rabbi Ira S. Kosowsky, who is also a Jewish educator, and their four children Akiva, Tali, Dov and Rena.
